A Note from Pastor Walt

Where have the last two years gone? On the 23rd of this month, the church board and I will meet with Pastor Trevor to hold a Pastor/Board review. This review is the way in which the district assesses the relationship the pastor and the church has, sees how the church is growing, not just in numbers, but also in maturity and ministry, and if there are areas that could use attention for the continued health of the church. Please be in prayer for the review – that we will continue to learn and grow as a church committed to S.T.A.R.T (S – Sharing; T – Touching; A – Advancing; R – Reaching; T – Teaching).

February is also the end of our present church year. We have worked through some things and we have begun some new things – all which couldn’t have happened without the part that each of you plays in supporting and in serving. I believe that the 2009-2010 church year will go down as one in which we learned, we grew, we resolved, and where we were willing. These spiritual and God pleasing characteristics, I pray, will be built upon as we look forward to the 2010-2011 church year.

In this last church year, we have found ourselves more active in the community, participating in ServFest, purchasing and then running the fair booth, helping with financial and physical needs of people, opening the Family Life Center to basketball and the beginning of a sports ministry, laying the groundwork for life helps workshops, a group of men offering to gather for worship with those who physically cannot come out to services, just to name a short list J

Then there is your giving and support for mission work – at home and around the world.  What a tremendous blessing – even your generosity in financially helping one another or those suffering in Haiti on short notice is an expression of hearts given to the service of our King.

What will 2010-2011 bring? The dreams are as numerous and big as the dreams you have to be used of the Lord in the beauty of His holiness. Let’s prayerfully look together for dreams realized – for in each dream realized a person may see Jesus and choose to follow Him.
